Alaska was a nice duty station

Great unit with so many former 75th NCOs and Officers there plus guys doing their rotation between Bragg, us and Vincenzo.

The guys at the 75th used to call my unit the "Hunting and Fishers Brigade" but we were busy especially in the winters with our normal winter training, QRF rotations, as well as visits to Asia. They did give us a few months "off" in the summer to take leave and they gave us a lot of 3-day and 4-day weekends to visit Alaska. I used to leave post on Friday with my kayak, a pack and my privately owned weapon and head down to the Kenai Peninsula to kayak and camp. Really enjoyed being up there.
